How much do you give back?

We are a social enterprise, which means we donate at least 50% of our profits to causes that do good. The way we calculate this is by giving 50% of the PROFIT MARGIN of every product to your chosen project. The profit margin is calculated by subtracting the wholesale price from the retail price, less an allowance for fixed expenses. 

What are some of your fixed expenses?

The list is long – but some of the major expenses are people to pack boxes to get products out to customers, boxes and packaging that your products come in, shipping products from suppliers to us, warehouse rent and associated expenses to run a warehouse (forklifts, shelving, computer systems, electricity), credit card processing fees and more.

What makes us different from many other social enterprises?

We allow consumers to shop with not only the environment in mind, but also with the knowledge that every purchase is making a real and tangible difference in somebody else’s life. Our projects have been carefully selected and vetted to allow change to happen where it is needed the most. 

In addition, our giving model is very transparent and generous compared to many other companies that operate as a ‘social enterprise’. Every product on our platform has a set dollar amount that will be donated upon purchase. 

Most social enterprises calculate their donation at the end of the financial year. If little or no profit is made, little or no donation is made. We don’t like this! And nor should you. Companies can easily absorb profits by paying larger than warranted salaries, inflated company director fees, bonuses and more. How common is this in the social enterprise world? We don’t know (though there are many proven cases that it happens) – but the unknown is enough for us to decide to do things differently and more transparently so we can give you the confidence that every purchase you make is creating change where it’s needed. 

Where do you operate from?

Our main warehouse is based in Melbourne (1/26 Lacey St Croydon, 3136)

Do you provide free shipping?

We provide free metro shipping to orders over $50. Orders under $50 will be calculated based on location of your shipping address and overall weight / size of products. Outside metro areas may incur surcharges. 

Where do you ship?

We ship to all capital cities and most regional areas in Australia. No overseas shipping at this stage.

How long will my order take to arrive?

Your order will usually be dispatched within 3 business days and most orders take a couple of business days to arrive at your doorstep.

Returns

If you are unhappy with your purchase, return back to us within 28 days (sorry, we do not cover return postage). The product must still be in the package and in the same condition it was sent to you in. If there is a fault, you are still covered by Australian consumer law.
